Frequently asked questions.

What is chiropractic care?

Chiropractic care is based on the major premise that your nervous system (brain, spinal cord and nerves) controls and coordinates everything in the body. Your brain and body communicate via nerve pathways branching out through your spine to every organ tissue and cell. The daily stressors of life (physical, emotional and chemical stressors), can increase tension in your spine, affecting the way it moves, functions and can cause interference in your nervous system, affecting this brain and body communication. When your spine and nervous system are not working at their best, especially if it’s over a long period of time, pain and symptoms start to creep in, stopping you from feeling your best and living the life you want to. We work to find areas of your spine and nervous system which are not working correctly (chiropractors call these subluxations) and address them in a safe, gentle and natural way with chiropractic adjustments.

Is an adjustment painful?

No, an adjustment is not meant to hurt. If you are seeking chiropractic care because of pain or symptoms, there may be inflammation, tenderness or discomfort around those areas that require adjustments, however the adjustments themselves are not meant to be painful. At Ignite Chiropractic we utilise many techniques to suit a range of people, some adjustments are manual where you may feel or hear a ‘click,’ others are low force which may feel very gentle. We also utilise techniques that are safe and comfortable during pregnancy and for kids and babies. If you are unsure if our techniques are right for you, feel free to get in touch to find out more.

What can chiropractic care help with?

Chiropractic care works to facilitate the body’s natural and inborn ability to self-heal and self-regulate. When your body begins to function better, many types of pain and symptoms can improve. Chiropractic may help with symptoms such as headaches, migraines, neck pain, shoulder pain, arm pain or numbness/tingling, back pain, sciatica, leg pain or numbness/tingling. It may also help with posture improvement and energy levels. Chiropractic is a natural approach to health care as it is drug free and ultimately may help improve many aspects of overall health and wellbeing. Learn more
